**Role Overview: The Backbone of National Transport Group**
National Transport Group is seeking highly professional and dedicated HGV Class 1 (C+E) Tramping Drivers to join our established team. This is a crucial role responsible for the safe and timely long-distance haulage of various goods across the entire UK network, requiring nights away (typically 4-5 nights per week, Monday to Friday).
**Your Core Responsibilities:**
1. **Safety and Compliance:** Adhere strictly to tachograph regulations, working time directives, and all internal H&S policies. Complete daily vehicle checks to the highest standard, reporting any defects immediately.
2. **Professional Driving:** Execute long-haul trunking between regional hubs and major customer sites. Efficient route planning and time management are essential to meet tight delivery windows.
3. **Load Management:** Oversee the safe loading and unloading of trailers. While manual handling is minimal (primarily coupling/uncoupling), you will be responsible for ensuring the load is secured correctly, especially given the nature of the freight (mixed freight, including some hazardous materials).
4. **Customer Interaction:** Maintain a polite and professional demeanor when interacting with depot staff and client representatives at delivery and collection points.
5. **Documentation:** Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including manifests, delivery notes, and expense reports.

**Mandatory Requirements:**
* Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence (2+ years experience preferred).
* Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
* Digital Tachograph Card.
* ADR Certification (Classes 2, 3, and 6 essential).
* Maximum of 6 penalty points on licence; no major endorsements (DD, DR, IN).
